The March 2007 meeting of the E-Learning Advisory Council was held in the Natchitoches Room of Russell Hall at 1:30pm.

The December 2006 minutes were unanimously approved without revision.

 

Old Business

Updates:

  1. Guests have been added to the Course Management System.  A general discussion followed regarding the possibility of qualifying students to take on line classes based upon their ability to learn with this mode of instruction.
  2. Title III –

 

New Business

  1. TurnItIn Plagiarism Detection software is now operational and integrated with Blackboard.  Training sessions and online tutorials are available for students and faculty.
  2. Respondus Lock Down Browser under investigation.  Locks down computer to eliminate all computer access when a student logs into a test.  Nursing program will pilot the program March – August.  Can be set up for personal computers used by online students.
  3. CALL initiative.  Targets adults across the state of Louisiana.  Funded in January 2007 by BOR.  Participants are NSU, BPCC, and SREB.
  4. ECE is preparing to relocate to Dodd Hall.
