Non-Credit Programs

The non-credit area strives to work with University resources, community resources, corporate resources, and technological resources to provide exemplary programming customized to fit the needs of the wide variety of students served. Specialized training opportunities such as workshops, conferences, seminars, and short courses are provided by Electronic and Continuing Education and are staffed by leaders in each of the fields represented.

Northwestern Can:

  • Customize training seminars on-site and through distance education.
  • Design seminars, short courses on a variety of human resource topics, such as stress management, time management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Design seminars, short courses on women's issues ranging from physical well being to work related issues.
  • Provide customized training and refresher courses using industry professionals.
  • Provide seminars on issues pertinent to small-business owners or individuals interested in starting a small business.
  • Provide short courses which satisfy continuing education unit requirements.
  • Customize leisure learning programs according to students' needs/interests.
  • Design seminars on family issues, ranging from health and wellness to communication skills.

ACT Prep Information (PDF):

We are currently offering an ACT Prep Course. This course is designed to help students score higher on their ACT exams. Scoring well on the ACT can help you with admissions to colleges and also help you to compete for scholarships.

Driver Education (PDF):

This course consist of 30 hours of classroom instruction and a minimum of 8 hours of practice driving (behind-the-wheel instruction). Driving schedules will be set once class begins. You will receive a certificate verifying successful completion of the course.
