In the Control Panel, under "Assessment," click "Gradebook." This will open gradebook in spreadsheet view.
Buttons across the top:
- Add Item - allows you to add item (column) to the gradebook
- Note: Quizzes/Exams/Surveys built through the Test Manager are added to the gradebook by Blackboard when they are made available to students. Blackboard will automatically grade all test answers except for Essay questions.
- Manage Items - allows you to change/remove items
- Gradebook Settings - allows you to change display and options, such as display of student information, categories, and letter grade definitions
- Weight Grades - allows you to set weights for gradebook items. Can weight grades by item or by category.
- Download Grades - allows you to download the gradebook into a spreadsheet. Great for keeping a copy of your grades outside of Blackboard and for printing. Much easier to manage print settings in Excel than in Blackboard.
- Upload Grades - allows you to upload grades to the Blackboard gradebook that you added in your Excel spreadsheet
